Dhurandhar Breaks Yet Another Box Office Record
Dhurandhar’s consistent run at the box office has helped it script history once again. On Tuesday, the film overtook the Hindi-language earnings of Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2: The Rise to become the highest-grossing Hindi film of all time. According to figures shared by the makers, the Ranveer Singh-starrer has amassed ₹831 crore net at the domestic box office.
Dhurandhar Surpasses Pushpa 2
On Wednesday afternoon, production banner Jio Studios unveiled a poster declaring Dhurandhar as “India’s highest-grossing Hindi film.” The poster featured a commanding image of Ranveer Singh and carried the message, “Thank you India. Ganpati Bappa morya.” It also highlighted the film’s net domestic collection of ₹831 crore after 33 days in theatres.
Released in 2024, Pushpa 2 was a massive pan-India success, with its Hindi dubbed version alone earning ₹821 crore — a record that stood until Dhurandhar crossed the mark earlier this week. However, some trade analysts dispute the figures, claiming Dhurandhar’s collection stood at ₹782 crore as of Tuesday, suggesting it still needs around ₹40 crore to definitively surpass Pushpa 2.
With this milestone, Dhurandhar has also registered the highest-ever collection by an Indian film in a single language. Previously, Pushpa 2 led with ₹821 crore in Hindi, followed by Chhaava (₹601 crore) and Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan (₹586 crore). Other Hindi films that have crossed the ₹500 crore mark include Stree 2, Gadar 2, Pathaan, Animal, and Baahubali 2.
