The trailer of Dhurandhar 2, directed by Aditya Dhar, has been released, giving audiences a glimpse of the much-awaited sequel to the 2025 blockbuster Dhurandhar. Titled Dhurandhar: The Revenge, the film is set to hit theatres on March 19.
Ranveer Singh returns as Jaskirat Singh Rangi
The trailer marks the return of Ranveer Singh as Jaskirat Singh Rangi. This time, his character is seen rising within the ranks of the Lyari underworld, with hints that he could become the next “Lyari ka badshah.”
In the first film, Jaskirat was shown as an Indian spy who infiltrates a Baloch gang led by Akshaye Khanna’s character Rahman Dakait. The sequel continues that storyline, showing how he operates from inside the gang to dismantle a terror network. The trailer features a remixed version of Bombay Rockers’ hit song Ari Ari and ends with a dramatic line from Jaskirat: “Now India will decide the future of Pakistan.”
Success of the first film
The first Dhurandhar, released on December 5 last year, turned out to be a major box-office success despite receiving mixed reviews. The film reportedly earned over ₹1300 crore worldwide.
The movie featured an ensemble cast including Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, R. Madhavan, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi.
The story ended with Rahman Dakait being killed by Hamza, who then covers up the incident. In a major twist, it is revealed that Hamza is actually Jaskirat, an undercover agent sent to Pakistan by Ajay Sanyal.
Release clash avoided
Initially, Dhurandhar 2 was expected to clash with Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, starring Yash. However, the makers of Toxic recently postponed the film’s release to June due to tensions linked to the US-Israel-Iran conflict.
With the clash avoided, Dhurandhar 2 now gets a wider release window. The sequel will also be released in several South Indian languages this time.
The film is still expected to face competition in Telugu states from Ustaad Bhagat Singh, starring Pawan Kalyan. Meanwhile, other films such as Peddi featuring Ram Charan, The Paradise starring Nani, and Project Hail Mary with Ryan Gosling have adjusted their release schedules around the same period.
With high expectations and a successful first film behind it, Dhurandhar 2 is now gearing up for a major theatrical release on March 19.
