After a strong box office run, Ranveer Singh and Akshaye Khanna’s Dhurandhar has made its digital debut on Netflix. However, the OTT release has sparked widespread backlash, with viewers expressing anger over muted dialogues, censored language and trimmed scenes.

Dhurandhar OTT cuts trigger outrage

Soon after the film began streaming, several users took to social media to complain that Netflix had muted abusive words, edited dialogues and allegedly cut nearly 10 minutes from the film. Many fans said they had expected an uncensored version following its theatrical run and questioned the logic behind editing an A-certified film.

“@NetflixIndia, why have you censored the cuss words in #Dhurandhar? What’s the point if we can’t enjoy the film properly? Do you censor cuss words in English movies? Then why this discrimination?” one viewer wrote.

Another commented, “If everything is muted anyway, why even give the film an A certificate? Censoring an A-rated film is a complete joke.”

Several users also pointed out discrepancies in the film’s runtime. One post claimed that the Netflix version runs 3 hours 25 minutes, derived from the 208-minute theatrical cut, while the 214-minute version was allegedly removed earlier from cinemas.

“The makers have ruined the runtime. The edits destroy the mood completely. I hope we at least get an uncensored version,” a user wrote.

Others echoed similar frustration, with comments such as: “Why censor it when everyone expected an uncensored release?”, “Beeped words and modified dialogues are still there on Netflix,” and “You’ve taken away the raw vibe of the film.”
