LPG Cylinder Price Today

LPG cylinder prices have been revised across India, making both domestic and commercial gas more expensive. The price of a 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder has increased by ₹60, while the 19 kg commercial cylinder has become costlier by ₹144 in several major cities.

The price hike is expected to impact households as well as businesses such as restaurants and hotels, which depend heavily on commercial LPG for daily cooking operations.

The increase comes at a time when rising tensions between the United States and Iran have raised concerns about global oil supply. At the same time, reports have emerged of LPG shortages in hotels and restaurants in some major Indian cities.

According to data compiled by Good Returns, the latest LPG prices in major cities are as follows:

New Delhi: ₹913 (domestic), ₹1,884.50 (commercial)
Kolkata: ₹939 (domestic), ₹1,988.50 (commercial)
Mumbai: ₹912.50 (domestic), ₹1,836 (commercial)
Chennai: ₹928.50 (domestic), ₹2,043.50 (commercial)
Hyderabad: ₹965 (domestic), ₹2,105.50 (commercial)
Lucknow: ₹950.50 (domestic), ₹2,007 (commercial)
Patna: ₹1,002.50 (domestic), ₹2,133.50 (commercial)
Bengaluru: ₹915.50 (domestic), ₹1,958 (commercial)

State-wise LPG prices

LPG prices can vary slightly from state to state due to transportation costs and local taxes. For example:

  • Maharashtra: ₹912.50 (domestic), ₹1,836 (commercial)

  • Tamil Nadu: ₹928.50 (domestic), ₹2,043.50 (commercial)

  • Uttar Pradesh: ₹950.50 (domestic), ₹2,007 (commercial)

  • Kerala: ₹922 (domestic), ₹1,912 (commercial)

  • Gujarat: ₹920.50 (domestic), ₹1,946 (commercial)

Prices are even higher in some northeastern states and island regions. Domestic LPG costs over ₹1,060 in states such as Mizoram and Manipur, while in Tripura the price is around ₹1,073.50.

Restaurants and hotels raise supply concerns

Along with rising prices, several hospitality businesses have expressed concern about the availability of commercial LPG cylinders.

Industry groups such as the National Restaurants Association of India have warned that irregular supply could disrupt operations at restaurants in cities including Kolkata, Bengaluru and Chennai. Restaurant owners say the sector relies heavily on commercial LPG for cooking and any disruption can affect daily business.

Hotel and restaurant associations have also reported supply-related issues in cities like Mumbai, Pune and Nagpur. Industry representatives say that if the situation continues, some establishments may have to reduce operations or temporarily shut their kitchens.

Government prioritising household supply

Government officials have said that domestic LPG supplies are being prioritised to ensure households continue to receive cooking gas without interruption.

While businesses have raised concerns about availability, officials maintain that there is no major nationwide shortage of LPG. According to them, the supply issues being reported in some areas are likely due to logistical delays rather than a widespread shortage.
